In-studio session

Teeth Whitening in Logan, Utah

A brighter smile changes how you feel in photos, on dates and in every conversation. At Radiant Flutter Co. in Logan, Utah, teeth whitening is a single, comfortable, in-studio session, so you can walk in with the smile you have and walk out with a whiter one.

The in-studio whitening session is $160. You can add a take-home kit, a pen or an enamel booster to keep the glow going. This page covers what whitening can and cannot do, what a visit looks like, how to protect your results and who should check with a dentist first.

Why teeth change color

Teeth are not naturally pure white, and they darken over time for several reasons. Coffee, tea, red wine and dark sodas leave stains on the surface of the enamel. Tobacco does the same. Teeth also yellow gradually with age as the enamel thins and the layer underneath shows through, and some medicines and the amount of fluoride you got as a child can affect color as well.

Whitening works on the stains and darkening within the tooth and on its surface. It lightens the natural color of your own teeth. It does not add anything to them, and it does not change their shape.

What a whitening session is like

The visit follows the same three steps as everything else at the studio. We begin with a consultation: we talk about what you want, how white you would like to go, what has stained your teeth, and any sensitivity you have had. Then the treatment: a gentle whitening session, done with care and never rushed, in one visit. Then aftercare: simple guidance and take-home products to keep your smile bright.

The studio is quiet, personal and unhurried. If something feels uncomfortable at any point, tell me and we will stop and adjust.

What to expect from the results

Whitening is a single visit, and many people notice a difference straight away. How far your teeth lighten depends on where you start. Yellow-toned stains tend to respond well. Gray tones and stains from some medicines respond less. Results vary from person to person, and I would rather tell you honestly what is realistic for your teeth than promise a shade.

Whitening works on natural tooth surfaces only. Crowns, veneers, bridges and tooth-colored fillings do not change color, so if you have visible dental work, tell me before the session. A natural tooth can end up lighter than a crown beside it, and it is better to plan for that than to be surprised.

Sensitivity and who should check with a dentist first

Some people feel temporary sensitivity during or after whitening, most often a brief sensitivity to cold. Tell me if your teeth are already sensitive, and say so if that changes during the session.

Whitening is cosmetic. It is not a replacement for dental care. If you have cavities, gum disease, exposed roots, cracked teeth or very sensitive teeth, see your dentist first, because whitening can aggravate those problems. If you are pregnant or nursing, or you are unsure, check with your dentist or doctor before you book.

Preparing for your session

A little preparation makes the visit smoother. Brush and floss as you normally would before you come, and skip anything that stains heavily, like coffee or red wine, in the hours before. Tell me about anything in your mouth that might affect the session: dental work, sore gums, recent dental treatment or sensitivity to hot and cold.

It also helps to think about what you want. Some guests would like a natural, healthy brightening that nobody can quite put a finger on. Others want a noticeable change they can see in photos. Neither is wrong, and telling me which you prefer helps me set the right expectations for your teeth.

In-studio session or take-home options

The in-studio session is the main service, at $160. The take-home products are there to keep your results going afterward, or to top up between visits. The At-Home Whitening Kit is $80, the On-the-Go Whitening Pen is $25, and the Enamel Booster is $20.

The pen is the small, portable one, meant for a quick touch-up before a photo or a night out. The kit is for longer-term care at home. The Enamel Booster is a supporting product for the surface of your teeth. If you are not sure which of them you need, ask me at your visit and I will tell you what I would use for your teeth.

These are the products I use in the studio and recommend, not a shop. If you want a recommendation without booking, you can send me a message and ask.

Keeping the results

Your teeth will stain again if you go back to the habits that stained them, so a few small changes help your results last. Rinse with water after coffee, tea or wine. Use a straw for dark drinks when you can. Brush and floss every day, and keep up with dental cleanings, which remove surface stains whitening cannot.

The studio also carries take-home products that I use and recommend for keeping your glow going between visits. They are listed above with their prices.

  • At-Home Whitening Kit, $80
  • On-the-Go Whitening Pen, $25
  • Enamel Booster, $20

Whitening and lashes together

Many guests come to Radiant Flutter Co. for both services. If you want eyelash extensions and whitening, the Bridal Bundle pairs any full lash set with an in-studio whitening session for a lower combined price, and it is not only for brides. It works just as well for a graduation, a family photo day, a reunion or a milestone birthday.

What whitening cannot do

It cannot lighten fillings, crowns or veneers, and it cannot fix a tooth that is dark because of an injury or a problem inside the tooth. It does not repair enamel or treat decay. It also is not a one-time fix for life: your teeth keep picking up color from food and drink, so a bright smile stays bright with habits, not magic.

If something about your teeth worries you beyond color, such as a tooth that hurts, a chipped tooth or bleeding gums, a dentist is the right first stop. I would rather send you to the dentist than whiten over a problem.
